1963 Gibson Everly Brothers Guitar - $5200
$5,200

This is an incredible sounding and feeling player's guitar that is highly collectible since only 488 were ever produced during the original 10-year run from 1962-1971. There are two on EBay this week that are offered at USD $17,500. and $18,600 respectively making this an excellent price.

I spoke with Norman Harris of Norm's Rare Guitars of Tarzana, California and he told me if it were his he'd put exact replica pick guards on it and sell it for between 10k and 12k US.

1962 to 1964 models are the most desirable. 1965 to 1967 models are less desirable than the pre-1965 models due to Gibson's change in neck size, peg head pitch, and the switch from Brazilian rosewood to Indian rosewood.

Production: 1962: 2, 1963: 148, 1964: 69, 1965: 41, 1966: 22, 1967: 8, 1968: 48, 1969: 51, 1970: 60, 1971: 39, Total 1962-1971: 488
