We provide career opportunities as unique as you are.Our company is One Team providing Infinite Opportunities.Responsibilities:The Civil Engineering Manager position is generally responsible for quality of project and technical work performed by the detail engineering and the civil design discipline. This position will be located in our Edmonton, Alberta office. Key Accountabilities:Business development - leads proposals, develops business opportunities Civil projects.Establishes and maintains effective communication with clientsManages the civil engineers to ensure staffing levels reflect project and operations requirements.Implements technical standards and provides feedback to the Practice Leader.Quality Assurance of detail engineering and design project deliverablesEnsures discipline standards are followed and maintained by the Discipline Supervisors.Provides day-to-day coordination and allocation of engineering resources in consultation with the office leadership. Provides management reports on staff allocations, utilization and backlog projections for discipline engineering staff.Direct point of contact between technical staff, project managers, and office leadership. Key Functions:Identifies resource needs, supports recruitment, and implements the process for developing qualified technical personnel for disciplines.Encourages and promotes innovation with the disciplines (support technical papers, etc.).Approves time sheets, expense reports, and vacation requests.Responsible for discipline engineers? development and guidance, including performance evaluations, development matrices, goal and objective setting, salary review, training, and career development.Provides and/or facilitates the compilation of engineering budgets for proposals and reviews these prior to submission to the client by the appointed Project Manager.Takes direction from and communicates with the Practice Leader in regards to:Technical standards to be followed, andProject performance issues.Coordinates with office leadership to establish priorities, forecast manpower requirements, and allocate resources to meet project schedules.Work with the Practice Leader to ensure optimum reimbursability is maintained through resource assignments from the disciplines to projects.Qualifications: Minimum Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor?s degree in Engineering; preferably a degree in Civil Engineering; however, a candidate with other engineering degrees may be considered based on pertinent experience.Experience: At least 10+ years of engineering experience in civil engineering field.Specialized knowledge, licenses, skills, etc.: Licensed Professional Engineer preferred. Should have knowledge of applicable technical codes, and Regulations and Codes. Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
